Mama Group has bought a group of London music venues from US corporation Live Nation for £6m.

The company, which also manages rock groups Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs, bought Mean Fiddler Holdings from Live Nation’s Mean Fiddler Music Group. Mean Fiddler Holdings owns the Mean Fiddler, Borderline, Jazz Café and Garage music venues in the capital and a 75% stake in gay club G-A-Y.

Mama’s joint chief executive Dean James said it planned to roll out some of the venues across London. Mama has now spent £20m on venues this year.
