Manchester Metropolitan University has appointed Drivers Jonas to provide strategic planning advise on its large property portfolio.

Drivers Jonas will create a masterplan for the university’s news £70m campus in Hulme, Birley Fields, and will also provide longer term advice on planning issues across the portfolio.

Birley Fields will combine existing facilities in Rusholme and Didsbury. The University is also planning to combine its two Cheshire campuses in Crewe, and draw up a masterplan for its soon-to-be vacated site at Alsager.

John Weir, partner at Drivers Jonas said:'With its substantial land holdings and progressive development plans, Manchester Metropolitan University plays a pivotal role in the regional economy. Our strategic planning advice will help shape much of their plans for future expansion.'
