Marks & Spencer stole the show at last night's Retail and Leisure Awards Property Awards, winning three prizes in front of almost 1,000 guests.

The event, held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, is organised by Property Week on behalf of the Leisure Property Forum, Shop Agents Society and Accessible Retail.

Marks & Spencer property director Clem Constantine received the Town Centre Retailer of the Award, the Green Award and the Retail Property Personaility of the year award on behalf of chief executive Stuart Rose. He addressed the audience via film on the night before making a forecast-busting statement on trading for the last 13 weeks.

Cineworld chief executive Steve Weiner was named Leisure Property Personality of the Year, and X-Leisure was named Leisure Investor/developer of the year.

P & O's Drake Circus shopping centre in Plymouth was named best new shopping centre or refurbishment and the transaction behind development of Primark’s Oxford Street flagship store took the town centre retail deal of the year.

Guests were entertained by `pub landlord Al Murray'.
