McCarthy & Stone sees revenue rise but profits crash

McCarthy and Stone Weybridge

McCarthy & Stone’s revenue rose 2% over the last financial year to £672m but underlying operating profit at the retirement home builder fell 30% to £68m.

Group chief executive John Tonkiss cited tough market conditions as reason for the company’s financial performance with UK monthly housing transactions ‘showing a decline of around 40% since 2015’.
