The 27-acre industrial and logistics scheme, which has recently been expanded, is also home to global technology giant Bosch, logistics giant DB Schenker and high-end engineering firm Thornhill Engineering.

The transaction follows the news of utility firm National Grid, which renewed its lease on an 81,000 sq ft unit on the site, committing to a further five years. Both units are part of the original development that St. Modwen retained when it acquired the scheme in 2010.

“It’s fantastic to welcome such a well-respected and established organisation to St. Modwen Park Doncaster,” said Sarah Williams, asset manager at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics. “We’re pleased to be able to keep this major local employer in the area with our well-located, high-quality industrial logistics park.”

Keith Law, managing director at McGregor Logistics, added: “It was important for us to find a new base that could cater to our business needs as we continue to expand our presence in the UK and European logistics sector.

“With strategic access to the M18 and A1, as well as links to the Hull seaports, moving to St. Modwen Park Doncaster was a no-brainer.”

Rebecca Schofield, partner at Knight Frank (which advised St. Modwen), said: “It’s great to welcome McGregor Logistics Ltd to one of the the park’s original buildings, particularly as the business has strong roots in Doncaster,” said. “Signing the deal so soon after renewing our lease to National Grid demonstrates the scheme’s strong reputation and first-rate location.”
