Brixton has secured the Metropolitan Police as the latest tenant for Polar Park in Heathrow.
The Met will take the 60,051 sq ft Unit 3 building at a rent of just under £80,000 per year, equating to £13.25/sq ft, on a 20 year lease. The equivalent of 12 months rent free has been given, spread over the first 3 years of the lease.
The developer has also got planning for a change of use at the site for a mobile patrol and custody centre and the fit-out works are being funded by the tenant.
Only one building – the 122,000 sq ft Unit 1 – remains un-let at Polar Park, which is located between the existing airport and the land designated for the potential third runway and Terminal 6.
CB Richard Ellis is the letting agent and King Sturge and Smith Melzack advised the Metropolitan Police.
