Eight principles for the future regeneration of Leeds have been announced at MIPIM today.

Leeds civic architect John Thorp MBE presented his ‘Renaissance Framework’ – which will guide the £1bn development of a new West End quarter in the city.

The eight principles are Connected, Green, Covered, Waterfront, Cultural, Skyline, Viaduct and Reconnected.

The new quarter is being developed by the West End Leeds partnership – comprising of developers Bruntwood, K W Linfoot MEPC and Town Centre Securities.

The new district will provide 3m sq ft of office accommodation, 186,000 sq ft of shops and 3,000 apartments.
