ProLogis has signed up the UK’s largest pharmaceutical supplier for 262,000 sq ft at a development near Leeds.
Teva UK will be located in ProLogis at Glasshoughton, near Leeds along the M62. The company is relocating from a smaller facility nearby and will use the new space as its main logistics centre and its corporate headquarters.
Teva is one of the main suppliers of medicine to the NHS, and up to one in six prescriptions dispensed in the UK uses a Teva product.
Andrew Griffiths, managing director for ProLogis, said: ‘Northern England has evolved into an important location for bulk distribution, owing to the area's large population and convenient access to regional distribution markets via the M62.’
Jason Beighton, managing director of Teva, said: ‘We're eager to move to our new state-of-the art site. The expanded space enables us to achieve substantial gains in distribution efficiency as we grow our business, offers an improved and more productive working environment and provides proximity to a qualified labour pool.’
Construction will begin on site this month and is scheduled for completion by autumn.
