Soho Estates chairman and senior adviser to BNP Paribas Real Estate, Steve Norris, is the latest addition to the line-up at Property Week’s all-new RESI Convention.

The former vice-chairman of the Conservative Party and candidate for Mayor of London will grill developers and public sector executives on the challenges of acquiring  land and gaining planning consent in two sessions on Thursday 13 September.

First, he will be joined by Kieran Daya of David Wilson, Barratt; Neil Sinclair of Palace Capital; Paul Smith of Bristol City Council and Jonathan Cage of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership to debate the pros and cons of different housing tenures and how to strike the right balance.

Norris will then join Phil Collings of Homes England and Anna Sabine-Newlyn of Meeting Place Communications on an ‘Ask the Expert’ panel, which will give the audience the chance to ask the burning questions they have about land and planning.

Another new addition to the RESI line-up is Emma Cariaga, the head of operations at British Land. Cariaga will give an insight into plans for the 53-acre Canada Water project, as part of a session on how residential developments can help unlock retail schemes.
