Orchard Street Investment Management plans to extend its 125,000 sq ft Outlet Centre at Gretna Gateway and has signed up retailer Marks & Spencer for a further 10 years.

M&S has signed a new ten year lease and is extended and refurbishing its store to a 11,600 sq ft space at the outlet centre in the Scottish Borders.

The lease will begin in May 2009.

Orchard Street has submitted a detailed planning application for a new 15,000 sq ft phase three extension to the centre.

The extension will create units of between 1,000 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft.

Chris Bartram, chairman of Orchard Street, said: ‘Our plans for phase three will improve the retail environment and will enlarge the space available for occupiers. We look forward to reporting on further progress in due course.’
