The company that owns the Orient-Express train and some of the world’s top luxury hotels is set to be sold for more than $3bn (£1.5bn), The Times reported today.

As well as running the famous Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, Orient-Express Hotels owns or operates 38 of the world’s most luxurious hotels, including: Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, the Cipriani in Venice and the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.

The Bermuda-based company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is understood to have received several bid approaches
