UK logistics take-up totalled 25.38m sq ft in 2019 - a 20% downturn on 2018, according to CBRE.

Overall, 92 transactions took place last year with over 10m sq ft of logistics space under offer at the end of 2019.

Third party logistics providers represented 22.7% of total take-up with online retailers and the motor industry constituting for 22.1% and 18.3% of total logistics take-up, respectively.

Meanwhile, take-up in the South East and East Midlands represented a 63% of total logistics take-up in the UK last year.

“The industrial and logistics sector continues to outperform all other sectors,” said Tasos Vezyridis, senior director of research at CBRE.

“Robust occupational market fundamentals ensured that industrial and logistics ended the year strongly, with the big box logistics pipeline remaining very active alongside a substantial amount of space under offer the sector as we head into 2020.”
