Pharmaceutical and clinical research giant Quintiles has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to look for a new office base of around 150,000 sq ft in the M4 corridor.

It is thought that Quintiles will look at properties by the end of the month. It is hoping to consolidate staff from three buildings in Bracknell.

According to research conducted by Jones Lang LaSalle at the end of 2008, rental demand in the Thames Valley could remain resilient going forward because more than 80% of demand came from the manufacturing and service industries, with only 1% tied to the financial industries.

It said that some of these industries continued to report increased capital spending, particularly in the engineering, healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors.
