Sports architect S&P have sumitted plans to Bristol City Council on behalf of Bristol Rovers Football Club
The planning application for a mixed-use scheme centred around an 18,500 seat stadium, would also include 150,696 sq ft (1,400 sq m) of office space, a hotel, a conference facility, restaurants and bars.
If the application is successful, work could start on site – which will require demolition of the club’s existing Memorial Stadium - in late 2007 to be completed in time for the 2009/2010 football season.
The stands to the north, east and west will be two-tier while the south stand will be single-tier.
Robert Guy, managing director at S&P said: ‘As the UK’s 10th largest city, Bristol needs a first class sporting infrastructure in order to continue to attract external investment.’
