Portsmouth based developer, The Partnership, has begun work on the second stage of its Portsmouth based Partnership Park after signing AquaCars as an anchor tenant.
The taxi firm, which has a fleet of 680 cars, will take 10,000 sq ft on the three acre regeneration site located between St Mary's Hospital and Portsmouth FC’s ground in the city.
The letting has triggered the second phase of the £2m development site which is being cleared in order to construct the building along with a further five business units for leasing or sale.
The Partnership, which is the locally-based landlord and developer venture, said the 26-week project should complete in November.
Martin Dennison, executive director at The Partnership said: ‘We’re pleased to have AquaCars on board - the company is pretty much a household name in Portsmouth and is widely respected for its customer service ethos.
‘Partnership Park is about breathing new life into a brownfield site, creating jobs and instilling pride in the city, and the signing up of AquaCars has got phase two of the development off to a great start.’
Handlesbanken, the Swedish lender, has funded the scheme which includes a fully let eight-unit first £6.5m phase of the business park last summer, and also a third planned 20,000 sq ft of business units.
Hughes Ellard is marketing the site.
