A Prudential/Berkeley joint venture has submitted a planning application for a 60-acre village near Reading.
Proposals for Green Park Village, 700 homes to the south west of Reading, were submitted on Tuesday to Reading Borough Council by St Edwards Homes.
The development, which will also include 170,000 sq ft of office space, will border Green Park, the M4-side business park.
The plans include a school and sports facilities, and will be served by a new train station.
The energy efficient homes will be a mixture of family homes, apartments and affordable housing for key-workers to serve the business park – the home for companies such as Cisco Systems, Symantec and LogicaCMG.
Reading Council has identified the development as a key part of its emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy.
A decision is expected in November. If successful, work could start immediately and St Edward would aim to finish in 2014.
