Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund QIA has become the largest shareholder of Spanish listed real estate giant Colonial via a major share swap and capital increase.
QIA has gained its enhanced position of 20%, up from 10% to move ahead of Mexico’s Finaccess’ 18%, in the wider Colonial Group through a non-cash capital increase of 53.5m Colonial shares and share swap in the group’s French subsidiary Société Foncière Lyonnais (SFL).
