Quintain Estates has got the go ahead for a £230m10-storey mixed-use building adjoining Wembley Arena and facing Wembley Stadium.

London Borough of Brent council has given planning consent for a 441-bed Hilton International Hotel, a student hall of residence, 5 affordable housing units, 86,080 sq ft of retail space, parts of the planned 150,000 sq ft designer outlet, parking for 226 vehicles and 398 bicycles, as well as landscaping.

It’s the fifth major consent in the planned 6.3m sq ft development, situated on the 72 acres of land owned by Quintain around Wembley.

The student halls will be owned by Quintain’s student accommodation fund, iQ, a joint venture between Quintain and Wellcome Trust.

Construction is due to start at the end of the year, and should complete by 2010.
