Cheshire-based developer Quorum Estates has acquired a former mill in Macclesfield for redevelopment.

The building, known as Castle House, is located on Waters Green adjacent to Macclesfield train station. Quorum bought the site from printing firm R. Clowes and will retain the 15,000 sq ft mill building. Depending on planning consent, the site will be redeveloped, adding an extra 10,000 sq ft and creating office and retail space and a hotel.

Paul Wardle, director of Quorum Estates, said: ‘This building lends itself to a range of uses and we are now in detailed discussions with the planners on the redevelopment potential for the existing building and the site as a whole.’
