A new ‘toolkit’ has been launched to help promote gender diversity in the property industry.
Membership group Real Estate Balance, which is chaired by Soho Housing chief executive Vivienne King, has launched an online toolkit offering companies and individuals resources, research and best practice advice to help them “build better-balanced businesses”.
The toolkit covers three main topics: leadership, which focuses on getting senior teams to recognise the issues surrounding diversity; culture, which encourages staff to challenge attitudes that prejudice women; and opportunity, which focuses on creating workplaces with fair and objective recruitment and promotions.
“The Toolkit is designed to support organisations in the UK real estate sector through the different stages in their journeys towards gender diversity,” said King.
