Property entrepreneur Roger Smee is trying to take control of an AIM-listed office fit-out company.
The directors of Real Office Group, which was established last August to buy and manage commercial property design and fit-out businesses, said today they would consider a £2.8m offer for a majority stake in the company from Smee, who is its deputy chairman.
In a statement made to the stock exchange, Lord St John of Bletso, Mark Laurence and Simon Godwin said they were considering a 16p a share offer for a 74.4% in the business from Leander Group, the holding company of Smee.
The proposed offer reflects a 68% premium to the closing price of Real Office Group’s shares yesterday of 9.5p.
A purchase would see Smee attain his objective of expanding his commercial interiors business which he set up in 2001. Leander also owns CFC Group, CFC Holdings and Pacific Interiors which also operate within the sector.
