ReBlackpool, the urban regeneration company behind the redevelopment of Blackpool, has unveiled its latest proposals for the People’s Playground at a new public exhibition.
The People’s Playground will be a new seafront park for local people, visitors, performers and entertainers.
The exhibition is being mounted to maintain the close involvement of local people in the project and highlight ReBlackpool’s bid for £25m from The Big Lottery’s Living Landmarks programme.
The plans are now the subject of a public consultation exercise.
Doug Garrett, chief executive at ReBlackpool, said: ‘We need to reconnect our seafront with the people of Blackpool and the visitors that come here. We are unveiling our latest steps to the public with a view to ensuring that Blackpool is the successful applicant in the quest for The Big Lottery’s Living Landmarks funding.’
