CB Richard Ellis has begun plans to make redundancies at its Leeds and Birmingham offices, following its purchase of Grenville Smith Duncan (GSD) at the end of last year.

Up to six members of staff are facing redundancy from the two offices as CBRE integrates the agency.

This week consultations started in both offices to determine how many staff will be made redundant.

It is understood that CB Richard Ellis will look at whether staff can be redeployed to other areas.

Property Week revealed in December that CB Richard Ellis was in advanced talks to buy GSD, which was sold for around £9m.

The takeover led to around 40 staff joining CBRE’s Leeds and Birmingham offices.

GSD had three directors running each office who are tied in for three years.
