The world’s largest provider of outsourced workplaces, has taken over two of its smaller office outsourcing rivals

Regus, the world’s largest provider of outsourced workplaces, has taken over two of its smaller office outsourcing rivals Laptop Lane and Managed Office Solutions for a total £3.7m.

The acquisition of Laptop Lane expands Regus’s business operations into airside

airport locations across the US. Laptop Lane operates 14 airside and landside business centres at eight airport locations. The company generated revenues of $5.9m in the 12 months to 30 June 2005.

Following completion of the deal, Laptop Lane will be rebranded Regus Express. Its management will be retained. The acquisition complements Regus’ existing airport businesses in Amsterdam and Brussels. Its management will be retained by Regus Express.

The acquisition of Managed Office Solutions forms part of Regus’s growth strategy in the UK. The company generates revenues from supplying fixed-term contracts for space and services to major corporations as well as income from unused office accommodation

on behalf of businesses and institutional investors.

Mark Dixon, chief executive of Regus, said: ‘In March, we reiterated our commitment to become the leader in the mobile and home arena as well as corporate outsourcing. The acquisitions of Laptop Lane and Managed Office Solutions, although small, are important strategic steps in achieving these goals.’
