Real Estate Opportunities, the owner of Battersea Power station in London, has appointed a technical team to work with architect Rafael Viñoly on the masterplanning of the development of the power station.
The new team will include planner DP9, cost consultancy Davis Langdon structural engineers Buro Happold, Roger Preston & Partners as engineers, Hylands Edgar Driver as public realm and landscape designers and Battle McCarthy on sustainability issues.
Rob Davies, development director for Treasury Holdings, REO’s development manager, said: ‘The team has been recruited both from those, such as Buro Happold, who have previous experience of the project and a thorough understanding of the challenges faced, and those new to the project but with fresh and innovative ideas. All have experience of complex regeneration projects in Greater London.’
He added: ‘Sustainability is at the centre of our approach to the site, hence the appointment of Battle McCarthy as a member of the core team. Our intention is to ensure that the revised masterplan, once in place, can be developed both as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.’
REO expects to consult on the plans by the new year.
