Residential agents scored £2.3bn via a three-day housing sale coordinated by Countrywide

Around 10, 364 properties were reduced in price for Countrywide Estate Agents’s three-day housing sale this weekend, which saw home-hunters save an estimated £198m.

Gascoigne Pees, one of the 32 chains of estate agents participating in the sale, sold 55 reduced properties as a result.

The event was designed to boost the local housing market by helping more people access and move up the property ladder.

Robert Scarff, Countrywide Estate Agents MD said: ‘Nothing on this scale has ever been done before – a sale of this magnitude offers huge savings for anyone looking to buy property.

‘More than 600 reduced properties were sold (STC) during the three-day sale event, with hundreds of serious offers being processed. We’ve helped first time buyers and families find committed sellers who are priced to sell.

‘Due to the success of the event and demand from buyers, a selection of unsold properties will remain at their reduced price.’
