The property chiefs of two high street retailers are departing ahead of a cut in store openings.

Graham Seaton, head of property at Sports Direct, and Geoff Green, Mosaic Group property director, will both leave the respective retailers next month.

Seaton has been working at Sports Direct for five years.

The business, which was founded by Mike Ashley and which trades as Sports World, floated last year and is said to be reining in its expansion plans.

Seaton is leaving by mutual consent and the property team will now be led by Mansfield-based Antony Darbyshire.

Geoff Green has worked at Mosaic for seven years and will leave at the end of October.

The five-strong property team at Mosaic will continue to run the company’s property requirements and will report to Mosaic deputy chief executive Mike Shearwood.

Many retailers are reining back expansion plans to reduce costs in the face of tough economic conditions.
