Property Week’s annual Retirement Living event has been renamed “Later Living” to better reflect the evolving housing market for older people.
Later Living 2021 will take place on 24 June as an online conference for the first time. The event will feature high-level panel debates and interactive roundtables.
The rebranding comes as the older generation’s pursuit of active lifestyles reshapes demand for purpose-built property.
Simon Hodson, head of UK healthcare capital markets at JLL, said: “Society’s perspective has evolved and it is appropriate that a more respectful term such as Later Living replaces outdated references such as retirement or seniors’ housing. Our growing ageing population demands a new focus from policy makers.”
