After months of negotiations the aircraft engine maker has decided to build its new mechanical, material, vibration and test facility at Dahlewitz, near Berlin, after the Germans offered more money to secure the project.

The state government of Brandenburg is offering £10.8m to Rolls-Royce to support the project, which is believed to be about £3m more than Derby could muster up.
