Alder King, acting on behalf of theme park, The Flambards Experience, has secured outline planning permission for a new Sainsbury’s supermarket in Helston, Cornwall.

The four acre site, owned by their client in Helston, had until now been used as an overspill cark park for the Flambards Experience theme park, but has recently become surplus to requirements.

Developers, Terrace Hill, are in the process of securing the purchase of the site, with profits being used by Flambards to expand and diversify the theme park’s offering.

James Kingsford-Hale, Flambards MD said: ‘Through selling the surplus land, we will be able to reinvest in our theme park and expand our business.’

Those involved will proceed to apply for detailed planning permission, with the process continuing into 2009.
