Scottish Enterprise is hoping to raise tens of millions of pounds by selling off a large number of properties in the next few months despite a slump in the commercial property market.

The agency is thought to be hoping to raise as much as £60m from the sale of at least 11 sites across Scotland, including Queen’s Road in Aberdeen and the Science and Technology Park at East Kilbride.

Money from the sales has been included in SE’s budget for the coming year but a spokeswomen denied there would be any significant impact if they did not achieve the values the agency wanted.

One property expert said the portfolio looked like a fire sale and held out little hope of achieving the amount of money sought.
