Segro has bought an industrial site in Dusseldorf, Germany for €18.7m (£13m) as it continues to expand into continental Europe.

The 1.7m sq ft site is occupied by packaging company Stora Enso, which will vacate the site at the end of 2007. Segro plans to demolish the existing buildings and said it would start a four-phase development on the site in 2009 which will add a further 861,100 sq ft of development. It said the project would include a mix of speculative units.
