Industrial REIT Segro has poached a director from British Land to take on its newly created role of head of sustainability.
Claudine Blamey will join Segro in June. She is currently corporate responsibility director at British Land.
Ian Coull, chief executive of Segro, said: ‘The sustainability agenda has been high on Segro's strategic priorities for a long time now.
The establishment of a new, dedicated function will help us raise it to a new level, embedding it in all aspects of the way we do business – environmental, health and safety, corporate and social responsibility and beyond.
It is a testament to the strength of Segro’s commitment to sustainability that we have been able to attract someone of Claudine’s calibre to head it.’
Blamey has worked at British Land since 2002, and developed the corporate responsibility programme at the developer.
Previously, she was environment manager at Honda UK.
