Labour’s shadow housing minister Alex Cunningham has called for green belt land to be released so that new towns can be built.
In his first outing as shadow housing minister, at a Policy Exchange panel discussion on new town building, Cunningham was asked whether or not unused scrubland on the green belt would be a good place to build homes.
