Sofa Workshop, the 30-plus store furniture retailer, is on the brink of administration.
The sofa retailer has lined up Leonard Curtis, the recovery specialist, as administrator if last-ditch rescue talks fail.
Sofa Workshop filed a notice of the intention to appoint administrators on 23 December. It had ten working days, until tomorrow, to rescue the business otherwise it could be placed into administration.
In the last 12 months, furniture and furnishings retailers including Ilva, Rosebys, MFI and New Heights- a former sister company of Sofa Workshop- have fallen into administration. ScS, the sofa specialist, was rescued last year while carpet retailer Allied Carpets has been put up for sale by its French owner.
