Tottenham Hotspur has today submitted to Haringey Council the planning application for the redevelopment of its White Hart Lane ground.

The plans for the Northumberland Development Project include a 63-row single tier stand which the Premiership club says will help create the “most atmospheric stadium in Europe”. The new stadium will hold 58,000 fans.

The wider redevelopment includes a 150-room hotel, a public square and a supermarket. The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, a charity founded by the club to bring football activities to the local community, will be based next door to the rebuilt stadium.

Daniel Levy, chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, said: "The submission of the application is a hugely important step for the club. Every fan will have an exceptional view of the action and will find themselves closer to the pitch than in any other comparable stadium."
