Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Accor Hotels are in talks with authorities in Dubai about a £2bn hotels and offices complex for the new Dubai World Trade Centre quarter. The Times
Dubai World Trade Centre, the state-owned business and trade body organisation, has started construction work for a 1.1m sq m site at the heart of Dubai city with three hotels, serviced apartments and five or six office towers covering 230,000 sq m.
A source said talks with hotel operators for the leisure part of the scheme – which is larger than the Broadgate complex in the City of London – ‘are now at the stage of between memorandum of understanding and hotel signings’.
