Adnams, the Suffolk-based brewer and pub operator, has sold a package of four freehold pubs to Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises (S&NPE ) for around £1.2m.
The package of pubs, which were part of a group of nine that were placed on the market earlier this year, consists of two in Ipswich — The County Arms and The Grand Old Duke, The Plasterers in Norwich and The Two Brewers in Diss.
In a separate deal S&NPE acquired a further Adnams site in Great Yarmouth. Christie + Co advised.
Adnams currently operates an 80-strong pub estate, a wine distribution firm, two boutique hotels and the Cellar & Kitchen chain of upmarket retail shops.
Anthony Jenkins, associate director at Christie + Co, said: ‘Despite the challenging conditions being currently faced by the pub market, the sale of these four sites demonstrates that the level of demand for freeholds continues to be high.’
