Tesco has complained to the Office of Fair Trading about the refusal of Rightmove, the property website, to list its properties. Financial Times

The retailer set up its own 'do-it-yourself' home selling service this summer in a bid to undercut traditional estate agents. The website Tescopropertymarket.com charges £199 for people to list their homes, in contrast to the thousands of pounds typically charged by more established rivals.

Tesco said more than 250,000 people visited the site within the first two weeks of its launch in June. But it has since struggled to crack the market, given the refusal of online rivals to co-operate.

Rightmove works as a portal on which estate agents and developers pay to place their adverts every month. But it has refused to accept any homes that are already advertised on Tescopropertymarket.com.
