Britain's biggest supermarket group has reported profits of £2.55bn. BBC.

Tesco, which has a 31% share of the UK grocery market, reported 13% growth in full-year underlying profits of £2.55bn.

Its overseas strategy grew strongly with 8.2m sq ft of new store space leading to 18% growth in international sales. Tesco plans to create 25,000 jobs worldwide this year.

However, most of its profits still came from its UK network of more than 1,400 stores. And profits of £139m came from its property portfolio, for which more sale and leasebacks are planned.
