Travelodge has appointed eight agents in London to drive its expansion plans in the capital.

The hotel chain is aiming to open around 6.25m sq ft of hotel space, or around 220 hotels, in London by 2020. It has retained Brasier Harris, Lee Baron, Strettons, Alan Hill & Co, Stiles Harold Williams, Field & Sons, Bridger Bell and Edwin Hill to advise on its £1.5bn plans.

Paul Harvey, Travelodge’s director of property and development said: ‘These agents will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver our aggressive expansion plans. With a hotel opening on average every eight working days, it’s imperative that we draw on their expertise.’

Travelodge will open around 30 new hotels across the UK this year including its flagship 392-room hotel at One City Road, London.
