UK estate agent Hamptons International has expanded its international business with the opening of an office in Casablanca, Morocco.

The firm, which is owned by Dubai-based, listed property company Emaar Properties, will provide its clients with services including lettings, development consultancy and mortgages. The team will be led by managing director of Hamptons International North Africa Youssef Benamour

It is the second international Hamptons office to be opened in two days following the opening of an India office at Gurgaon, near Delhi, yesterday.

In Morocco, Hamptons is aiming to cash in on the country’s economic growth as outlined by King Mohammed VI in his Vision 2010 strategic development plan for the country. The plan envisages an increase of annual tourists to 10m by 2010, creating 600,000 new jobs.

Benamour said: ‘The new Hamptons International Morocco office will provide a one stop shop for customers wishing to buy either a holiday home or a residential investment in Morocco. As a result of the planned economic growth, there are some excellent investment opportunities across the country.’

The opening of the office in Morocco forms part of Hampton’s global expansion strategy. In addition to the UK, Dubai and Oman, Hamptons is also launching offices in Italy, Russia and India.
