Having joined Lancaster in 2003, Swindlehurst led the university’s estates team through a significant campus redevelopment programme including a £500m investment in its Bailrigg Campus. In 2009, he was appointed to lead the university’s newly formed facilities division.
Prior to joining the university, Mark worked for the BBC in its corporate property department and he is a past chair of the Association of University Directors of Estates.
Sean O’Shea, group chief executive officer at UPP, said: “The creation of UML is an important milestone in the evolution of UPP. UML will support our new five-year business plan as we continue to grow the number of rooms under management to more than 40,000 over the coming years and our portfolio of long-term partnerships with leading UK universities – reinforcing our position as the leading provider of on-campus student accommodation infrastructure and support services in the UK.”
