Regeneration specialist Urban & Civic has received planning permission for a 700,000 sq ft extension of its St Neots scheme that will also add a further 2,800 homes to the development just outside Cambridge.
U&C submitted the application in November jointly with Nuffield College (Oxford) and was granted the resolution by Huntingdonshire District Council for its “urban extension” in what the company claimed is “a record” approval time.
The proposed extension includes up to 2,800 new homes, two new primary schools, health facilities and 678,000 sq ft of new employment space. Terms have been agreed for the first parcel sale under U&C’s master developer licence model with first occupations planned to start in November 2019.
