Developer Hines has received planning permission to start construction on a new €1bn town centre in Cherrywood, a long standing undeveloped site in south Dublin.
Construction is expected to start towards the end of the year on the development which will comprise 1,269 build-to-rent apartments and a 15 block town centre containing 585,000 sq ft of retail and office space, a 200-room hotel and high amenity leisure offerings.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council approved the plans which Hines will develop alongside Dutch pension fund investor APG Asset Management, who agreed a joint venture deal on the residential element of the project earlier this year.
