Vermont Developments has been given the green light for its £100m Sefton Street Quarter development.
The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has endorsed Liverpool City Council’s planning approval of the scheme.
The Sefton Street Quarter will see the development of an industrial site into a mixed use development including a luxury hotel, 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) of commercial and leisure space and a 22 storey apartment tower.
The scheme, which is being developed by Liverpool-based Vermont Developments and joint venture partner Ethel Austin Property Group, had been referred as it required a change of land use from employment.
Mark Connor, chief executive of Vermont Developments, said: ‘Its obviously an exciting time for the city and we believe our scheme will provide a landmark development at the southern gateway into the city.’
