West End office space rises by a fifth

In the first quarter of 1999, availability rose to 300,000 sq m (3.2m sq ft) from 240,000 sq m (2.6m sq ft) as a fresh supply of secondary space came on stream. Less than one-fifth of available space is newly built or refurbished.
