National Amusements’ Cinema de Lux opens this week in Westfield and Hermes’ Derby shopping scheme in the town.
The cinema opening completes the redevelopment of the existing Eagles shopping centre and extension in the East Midlands town.
The retail element opened 98% let in October 2007 - six months ahead of schedule.
The 12-screen Derby Cinema de Lux is the first to open in the UK ahead of a wider roll out.
The 70,000 sq ft multiplex cinema will be joined by a wave of latest retail lettings including footwear retailer Crocs which has taken a 1,383 sq ft store, Moss Bros with a 3,900 sq ft store and Watch Hospital taking a 200 sq ft store.
