Westfield London has outperformed the UK and Central London with December like for like sales up 18% on last year.
Footfall was also strong with nearly ¾ million people in the week prior to Christmas, 31% more than last year.
The British Retail Consortium reported a 4.2% rise on like for like sales in the UK compared with December 2008, and Central London has reported a 12% increase.
In comparison, Westfield London saw like for like sales increased by 18%.
Michael Gutman, managing director Westfield UK/Europe, said: “It is pleasing to see the way in which the centre is gaining traction with the consumer. We expect this to appeal to be enhanced further with the opening of the Vue 14 screen cinemas on the 12th of February.”
The centre opened in October 2008.
