Howard Holdings has got the go ahead for its masterplan for a £120m development in Weymouth

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council approved the masterplan for the 10-acre (4 ha) pavilion and ferry terminal site ahead of a planning application this week.

Howard Holdings will now submit a planning application for the proposed leisure quarter in Weymouth.

The scheme will comprise up to 345 flats, a 120-150 bed hotel, a marina of up to 150 berths as well as bar bistros and shops around a public square.

Howard Holdings was selected as the Borough Council’s development partner following a competition in 2005.

In addition, the project will deliver a remodelled Pavilion Theatre complex including a new performance space, a new ferry terminal, the re-provision of 400 parking spaces, and a new World Heritage Site Visitor Centre.
